♥The Life of an UNDomesticated Goddess♥εϊз Just another Martha Stewart Wannabe 29-4-2007 Kiss thee girl......
This is the kissy pic I got over the weekend and I really like it. I noticed that a lot of couples have kissy pics, except us. So, I was on a mission this weekend to get one AND, I really like this one!! Anyways, I digress...... So, how was everyone's weekend? I don't know why I'm asking, I dont think anyone actually reads my blog, I dont get many comments anymore, anyways....even some of my regulars dont come and visit me anymore :( .Maybe everyone was drove nuts with all that wedding talk? Ah well, whaddayado? As for wedding talk, there's THREE MONTHS LEFT!!! Now, I'm freakin' a little. I have SO MUCH left to do and so little time to do it! But, we're not going to talk wedding talk. Friday night FH, V, D, A, K and I had a drinkin' and pool night. It was a funfilled night equipped with a hoe train and everything. Choo-Choo....We pretty much did some pool, got drunk and hung out. I made ONE absolutely awesome shot that got TWO of my balls in at the same time. I was super impressed with myself as I notmally find it hard enough to hold the stick, let alone get balls in, especially my own balls!! So, we went to bed pretty late, but, had to get up really early. Saturday, V and I went on a Bay shopping run. We went from Mall to Mall to store to store and ended up at E&E's take-out in Brigus. We were so excited because we thought all we had to do was sit in the car and a little man would come bring the food out to us. However, this was NOT the case. Some young chick waved to us from the window and we had to get out in to the sleet to get it ourselves. I didn't enjoy the fries too much but, I DID enjoy the cheeseburger, it was quite yummy. Then, we drove home and tried to avoid the big puddles on the TCH on a count of where I'm not too fussy on hydroplaning and all. When I got home it was like 6:00 and I was super tired, SO, I read and then went to bed.....what a Saturday night (I'm such a geek)..... Then, there's today. FH and I woke up our usual Sunday morning time and headed to Tims for a tea and drank it up on Signal Hill. It was real sweet, eh....Then, we went for groceries, BUT, the best part happened after the groceries. We saw a pretty little house with a white picket fence for sale! So, I wrote down the number and called the Real Estate agent right away! Turns out the house is DEFINETLY in our price range and we are going to be viewing it tomorrow after work.....Yippppeeeeeee...... It's such a cute little house and I love it. I certainly hope she's just as pretty on the inside!! Other than house hunting, today FH and I watched "The Queen" and "Night and the Museum"...both I wasn't too fussy on. We also went over to St and Sh's house because it was Sh's birthday. So, we had supper and some yummy cake. Then, we came home and vegged......interesting, hey? So, that was my weekend in a nutshell, not too intersting but, that's it. With that being said, I think I'm going to pack my lunch and head to bed. I have a busy day at work tomorrow. I'm trying to figure out a bunch of java that is quite a pain in the butt.....anyways, ciao for now.....GAWD, I'm boring........ L. 4-4-2007 stupid banks and needlesWell then, it’s April. The first week of April is almost over. It’s KINDA scary. Time is flying by SOOOOOO quickly. Before I know it, my big day is going to be here and that’s all I’ve been thinking about lately. I’m down to the nitty gritty of planning and I keep thinking I’m missing a whole big chunk of stuff, but, I don’t know what. I’ve been having dreams too. Like for instance, the other night I had a dream that FMIL decided to make us some baskets of flowers. I mean, God love her, she weaved the baskets herself and made the flowers out of coloured toilet paper!!?? So, we walked in to her house and she had about 100 baskets weaved out of those palms you get for “Palm Sunday” and she had all colours of toilet paper made in to hundreds and hundreds of flowers. So, FFIL walked in and asked her what she was doing with all the stuff and she said “It’s for the wedding”. Even in my dream, I didn’t want to hurt her feelings by saying, oh my goodness, that’s the ugliest creation I’ve ever seen, so, I went outside and started running around the yard screaming on the top of my lungs…lovely. Good thing it was only a dream and I can hardly picture my FMIL weaving baskets and stuffing them with TP. Good thing is right…..
So, I had to get a CT Scan yesterday. It was a harrowing experience all around. First off, I was sitting in the waiting room next to a man that was clearly experiencing some sort of respiratory distress. He kinda sounded like a had a bad flu with a lot of phlegm. Now, don’t get me wrong, I felt bad for the fella. I, myself experienced some particularly horrid bronchitis symptoms last week, but, that’s not it. The man was coughing, but, with his mouth opened. Not only was it opened, he was practically making every effort to spew spit and whatever else EVERYWHERE. But, when he was all finished the little “coughing show” he sucked back any loose phlegm. I was absolutely disgusted but had no choice but listen to it during my wait. So, finally they call my name and I get to leave the germ infested waiting room. I lie down on the table and the guy tells me to pull up my sleeve because he needed to give me a needle….wait a minute, I didn’t know I was getting a needle. I didn’t prepare for this….btw, I’m super duper afraid of needles. Anyways, the man hauls out the needle, which was actually an IV thing to insert dye (yes, DYE) in to my veins. He started poking my left arm first and couldn’t find a vein. So, he moved to the right arm, still no luck. Finally he said, “I’m going to try one more time and if I can’t get it, I’ll do the CT Scan without the dye”…so, he does it in my hand. No luck, but says the same thing again “If I cant get it this time….blah blah blah”. He countiues doing this THREE more times. The final time I could actually feel the needle under my skin and the man poking around. See, I have very SMALL rolling veins and he had very BIG meaty fingers. Anyways, I finally said, “if you don’t stop, I’m going to start poking you with the needle”….So, he stopped and started taking pics of my sinuses with the big doughnut. Today, my hands and arms are full of bruises and it looks absolutely horrible, not to mention quite tender.
You’d think CT Scan from hell would have been enough trauma yesterday. Well, unfortunately no, it wasn’t. I went to the bank yesterday evening at about 5:15 to do some banking (DUH). I pay one of my bills through the bank and it’s something that can’t be set up via “online banking”…ANYWAYS, I asked the woman to “make a memo” on my account, with the bill account info, that way I wouldn’t have to continue bringing it in with me and it would be okay if I had forgotten it or something. Anyways, the woman makes the memo, I pay my bill and go along my merry way. Fast forward to Pipers Department Store. I had just picked up a few things and got up to the cash. She rang it all in and swiped my card. Anyways, she sings out “Your card has been declined”. I was thinking, “WTF?? HOW CAN A DEBIT CARD WITH MONEY ON IT BE DECLINED” but, instead I turned a bright shade of red and asked her where the nearest phone was to call my bank (like a purpose I left my cellphone home). I call the bank’s 1-800 number and she says (very rudely I may add) “your account has been frozen because there’s a court order to pay your bill (it was the bill info I gave Bank Teller Lady). So, I tell the woman there must be some misunderstanding and if she can check in to it because I used my account an hour ago. She rudely says, “There’s nothing I can do about court orders, you need to pay the bill and blah, blah, blah….”. So, at this point, I’m absolutely freaking RIPPING mad and get FH to drive me BACK to the bank. It was 6:25 and the bank had closed at 6:00, but, I wanted to try anyways because I figured, there’s no way they could have all left at 6, is there? Don’t they have bank things to do when everything closes?? Anyways…..I get down there and the place is completely black. Nonetheless, I start banging on the windows. I’m pretty sure the people using the instant tellers thought I was absolutely nuts, but, I didn’t care, I was on a mission. So, FINALLY, someone comes out, all in a fluster. I explain the situation, she takes my card, comes back, I tell her it’s something the teller did and there is no way there’s a court order on my account, and she takes the card back again. After about 20 minutes, she comes back and says “I’m sorry Ma’am but, the teller accidentally made the memo using a code that turned it in to a court order and it froze your account”……like, WTH??? Ya, it’s so easy to freeze the account but, not so easy to unfreeze it. Well, my word…….ANYWAYS, it was all fixed after awhile and I could continue on with my shopping, however, by the time it WAS fixed, it had gotten stormy and I didn’t want to go out anymore….BLECH…
Yes, so, that’s all I have to say. I really love my new job. Everything I’m doing is very exciting and its stuff that I really enjoy doing. I also REALLY LOVE working with the Government. The Confederation Building is always hustling and bustling with excitement…..Everyone there is so nice too!!
Well, anyways, I’d better run. S and I are heading out in a little bit.
Ciao, L. 27-3-2007 WTH? SNOW?????Hi Folks....How is everything? Spring has sprung but apparently has sprang right on past Newfoundland. We had a snow storm today. YES! A FRICKING SNOW STORM!! It's March 27th and you wouldn't know but it's the middle of February! You know what else? I'm sick, and not just a little sick, REALLY SICK. I'm lying here in bed and feeling like I'm going to pass out which is pretty odd, considering I'm already lying down. I have bronchitis. It sucks. My chest is on fire, there's gremlins in my throat and head is going to explode. But, enough about that. First thing, everyone should have a look at the following "YouTube" video. It's possibly one of the cutest things I have seen in quite a long time. Make sure you keep watching until the end.....the REALLY cute part happens at the end (Just when you think it can't get any cuter).....
Wasn't it adorable??? Well, I thought it was. It really cheered me up :o). So, how is everyone today? How's the weather wherever you are? I'm sure it MUCH nicer than the weather here. BLECH!
So, there hasn't been much on the go with me in the past couple weeks. Well, except the fact that I GOT A JOB!! WOO-HOO!!!! Not only is it a "job" it's a wonderfully wonderful job with a BIG company! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It's awesome pay with awesome benefits and awesomely awesome work for me to do. I'm actually going to be doing some development and no tech support, which is great. Don't get me wrong, I like the tech support, but, I really like the development part. It's so funny, getting laid off from my previous job must have been a blessing in disguise, because, I probably wouldn't have gotten my act together and applied on any other jobs! I just feel bad for the IT girl that's still there. She hates it. She was always talking about the owner/company and how wonky she/it was so, I really feel bad that she's still stuck there. Plus, staying there wasn't doing much to expand my "IT brain", there was a lot of admin work involved and nothing against admin work, but, I'm more in to the computer stuff. So, I'm out of there and in to another job which I am so happy about!! The only thing I was a little nervous about with starting a new job, was holidays. Normally I wouldn't be concerned, but, seeings how I'm throwing a PRETTY big life changing "Party" in August, I was thinking I may need some time off for that......But, that doesn't matter because I do get holidays!! WOO-HOO. Holidays and personal days, so, it's just perfect!
So, what did I do the weekend? Not a wholehelluvalot.Thursday night (I like to think weekends kinda start on Thursdays) FH, V and I went to East Side Marios for a celebratory dinner. We had all you can eat pasta and a lovely chat. The celebratory dinner turned in to a celeratory Walmart visit, which turned in to a celebratory drink!! Yippeeee..... We dropped FH off and V and I headed to Tol's Time Out for some karaoke. I got up and sang and V drank. I couldn't drink, because I was driving, but, we got some old man eyes made at us. Shortly after the old man eyes, we left and headed to Signal Hill where we dorkily sat in the car for an hour, chatted and took crazy pics (see album). However, it was a good night......Friday night V and D came over for a BBQ. It was kinda chilly but, we threw some big price club weiners and hamburgers on the bbq. We also drank some lovely fruity/fizzy concoction that V mixed together. It was quite nice. That night, FH's neice, K came over for the night. We played some XBox, watch Dirty Dancing, ate mousse cake and hung out. The next day, K and I went to see "The Last Mimzy" It was a silly little movie about a talking rabbit and spinning rocks. It kinda freaked me out and I'm pretty sure I had dreams about the bunny that night. So, K and I did some shopping after the movie, had a ridiculously overpriced Laura Secord cone and headed home. We then picked up V, made some homemade pizza, played MORE XBox and hung out. Sunday morning was a lazy, lazy time. I finished reading the last book in the Shopaholic series and made a "snack and a half" to bring over to my Aunties house. It was my uncle's birthday so, we were going over there for a potluck. It was a lovely time. Talking with the family, plus, I gave out my invites, which everyone really liked. People can't believe I actually did them myself.....awh, I'm so creative....lol. After the family thing, I came home got in the bath and went to bed. Then, at about 2:00 in the morning the MAC truck ran over me. It's like the Bronchitis fairy decided to land right at that time. The next morning at work, I felt so, so, soooooooo crappy. I thought I was going to keel over and die. At one point, I was so cold that I started shaking and shivering and everything! It was horrible. That continued up until about an hour ago. Luckily I'm feeling a "bit" better tonight. I'm going to go jump in the bath, relax, read my new book (Lisa Jackson- "Most Likely to Die"), drink some Nyquil and hit the hay. Hopefully I'll feel fresh as a daisy in the morning.
I also have one more peice of exciting news to share.....WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!! We're going to Florida for a couple of days and then on a cruise. We're going for our honeymoon, so, that's SOOOOOOO EXCITING!!! YIPPPEEEE.....I totally can't wait!
Now, with nothing more to say, I should go do the aforementioned plan! I hope you all have a wonderfully fantabulous week!
CIAO, L. 15-3-2007 Winter.....BLECHGood Evening Ladies and Gentlemen,
How is everyone today? Well, I'm just peachy keen. I know I haven't been around in awhile, but, that's because I've been hanging out over in Facebook. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's just the most awesome thing ever. I've gotten in touch with a whole bunch of people from my past. Some I went to highschool with, others I started hanging around with when I was very, very young. It's really quite cool!! For those of you who haven't been there, you really should go there, for those of you that are on there, keep going there.
So, what have I been up to all Winter?? Just "enjoying" the snow. Well, not so much enjoying as loathing it. We had a really big snowstorm back in February that pretty much put the city out of commission for a few days. It was like living in a big igloo. There was snow EVERYWHERE. Now that we have a house, of course we have our own driveway. Thus, we have to do our own snowclearing. Normally, FH would clear it himself with the shovel (I'd help of course) but, on this particular occasion the snow had been dumped on us in masses so, it was near impossible to tackle the driveway with just a shovel. So, we called in reinforcements, we hired a plow. A nice little man in his big front loader came in and piled our snow in one huge bank at the very back of our driveway. I'm pretty sure it was one of the best few dollars I've ever spent. Here's our plow man.....
On the upside, Miss Maggs was really enjoy the snow. She was running and rolling around in it. Then me, like a little over anxious Mommy, would watch her everytime she went out, afraid she would sink down in the snow or something. The snow was that deep that it went up to our second story window! If I wanted to, I could actually let Maggie out through the window! Here she is, right next to the window when normally you'd have to look WAAAAAAAY down at her.She was just after having a good romp in the snow, while it was still a little stormy out!
But, the Winter is hopefully almost over. Today it was +10 so, a lot of the snow melted! I can actually see the fence now. The worst thing about the snow melting is how dirty everything looks. The snow is grey and everything burried from the Winter is coming back out....BLECH......But, I'd rather have good weather and dirty snow then any more stupid snowstorms! Then again, there's always "Sheila's Brush". Apparently Sheila was St. Patrick's wife and she's brushing away the last bit of Winter. When she does this, she stirrs up some bad weather. Usually after that, we dont get anymore snowstorms. Maybe instead of using a brush, Sheila should use a vaccuum, or even a Swiffer. At least that way it wont all be blowing around.....Grrrrrrr.........
Other than contemplation of moving to Jamaica, my Winter has been okay. I've been doing the same thing I've always been doing. I got out of a really horrible situation which I thought I wouldn't be able to do. It was something that was on my mind for a long time. The entire time I was in the situation I felt like absolute crap!! There was even times I'd cry about it! So, a situation you can avoid really isn't something worth crying about. The issue I was having was, if I left the situation, it would fool something else up that's important in my life. If I stayed in the situation, I would surely need to check in to a psychiatric hospital in the near future! So, the situation resolved itself. I just had to sit there and do nothing. So, the other important thing in my life wasn't affected and I no longer need to cry everynight, dwelling on things that happened that day. It's good too because it gave me that extra kick in the butt to look for a new situation!! So, I have some good opportunities coming up. I'm hoping they'll happen, but, I just need to pray extra hard!
So, the only other thing on my plate right now is this little party I'm throwing in August to celebrate FH's and my love! The BM dresses have been ordered and most tuxes have been fitted for. Everything is picked out and ready to go. The invitations are almost ready to go out too!! So, it's just around the corner and I feel confident.....I'm ready, I think........But, I can't believe I'm getting married in 143 day!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Anyways, I think that's it for me right now.......So, go check out Facebook!!
Have a good one!!

14-2-2007 Up My Nose with a rubber hoseLovely....Just lovely. Yes, a rubber hose was inserted up my nose and it wasn't very nice at all. I went to an ENT yesterday to get my sinuses all checked out and everything was best kind, until he said he had to look up my nose. So, he brings me in to a little room, sits me on a big purple chair and sprays some type of anesthetic up my nose. Then, he says "I'll be back in five minutes to look up your nose". So, anyways, about an hour and half goes by and some lady walks in, she says "you're waiting for Dr. So-n-So are you?".....I said, "No, I'm waiting for Dr. Someoneelse"....she put a funny look on her face and walked out of the room. I was thinking, "Gee that's strang". About 5 minutes later the Dr. walks in and says, "I was on my way out, I forgot about you". Wonderful. So, by this time, I was sitting in the office for such a long time I kept imagining all the awful things he was going to do with the big hose next to me. Not only that, about a half hour before that I heard someone in the next room freaking out, thus I was sure that would be my fate as well. Anyways, he picks up the hose (remember, he's in a rush now), comes at me and doesn't even explain what he is going to do. Of course, I, being the super wimp that I am, started to freak out a little. I was all, "hold on there cowboy", well, I didn't say that, but, I DID tell him to stop. I wanted a little bit of an explanation about how much of that hose was going to go up and where it was going to come out (I heard horror stories about it going up your nose, down your throat, out your ear etc. etc). Instead he says "I've done this 100 people a day". So, I say, "Ya, well you're not the one getting a pipe shoved up your nose". He said "Well, I can't do anything you don't want me to do".......then, I thought, okay, I have horribly horrible sinuses and this man may be able to fix it, if he just looks up my nose. So, I stop my freaking out, say "please be gentle" and let him go on his merry little proding way................................OK, so it really wasn't THAT bad. Perhaps the anticipation of it all is what got to me. Nonetheless it's over now. My top teeth and nose were numb up until the time I went to bed last night. It was NOT a nice feeling. So, today, I had to go and get bloodwork done, plus some more friggen X-Rays. Next, I have to wait for my appointment with the allergy test lady and a CT scan. ACK. Ah well, hopefully they'll be able to find out and fix my issue, before another one of these stupid sinus attacks come along..........Hmpf....
Well, at least my weekend was good. FH, the canine-furbaby and I went on a little mini-cation. It was just lovely (and relaxing). We stayed at Kilmorey Resort in Swift Current. The first night there, we stayed in a two bedroom loft with a fireplace. It was absolutely GORGEOUS. I thought absolutely nothing could top it, that is, until we stayed in a different cabin the following night. It was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL two bedroom loft, with a brand new fireplace, brand new everything AND, ANNNNNNNNNNNNNND a JACCUZZI!! Oh it was lovely. FH and I sat by the fire, had drinks in the jaccuzzi and relaxed, relaxed, relaxed. Saturday we spent the day in Clarenville. They had a brand new Walmart, which I was pretty excited about. Nothing like fresh, new, untreaded Walmart-territory......I didn't buy anything though, just a super pack of socks for FH. So, we left the Walmart and checked out Riffs. There wasn't much there, but, I liked the browsing. Other than that, we went up to White Hills Ski Resort. FH tried to convince me to go skiing but, I was a little nervous about that big bucket that takes you up the hill. Not only that, but, you have to give them your weight.....AHHHHHH!!! I'm not telling some little twirp my weight. Nope, not gonna do it. Besides all that, I didn't have any warm clothing with me. So, we moved on. We headed back to Swift Current, stopped in the local convenience store and went back to our lovely jaccuzzi cabin, where we stayed until the next morning. I was sad to leave, but, at the same time happy to get home. The whole isolation of it all kinda freaked me out a little. When we got home, V and I went to take in a movie, "Norbit". It was HILLARIOUS!! We both thought it would be really stupid, however, when we saw it we both agreed on it's hillarity. That silly Rasputia. So, out of 10, I'd give it an 8. So, GO SEE IT.....hehehehehe........
Other than the aforementioned stuff, there's nothing else going on in my life. Well, besides wedding planning. But, other than that, there's nothing. FH got a promotion with his work, which is really exciting. I was very happy for him and us. Anyways, I better go start preparing supper. I'm making some chicken fried rice and meatballs. I think I may also whip up a cake or something..........I hope you all have an absolutely splendorific week!!
XO,
LeeLee OH YA, and Happy Valentine's Day!! and Happy Hump Day!!! |
